Liz Truss, Bill Esterson and Ed Davey to make their parties’ pitches for freelancers and small businesses
Liz Truss, Bill Esterson and Ed Davey are among five speakers setting out what their parties will do for freelancers and small businesses at a hustings event on Monday 25th November.
Chaired by the Financial Times’s Daniel Thomas, the panel will also include Brexit Party MEP Ben Habib and Green Party Deputy Leader Amelia Womack. It will be at 6pm on 25th November 2019 at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, Moorgate Place in central London.
The five speakers will lay out their policies and debate #5MillionVotes, a manifesto for the freelancers by IPSE (the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed), as well as a range of other self-employed and small business issues.
The event is jointly hosted by IPSE, Enterprise Nation, Coadec and the Entrepreneurs Network. It is a free event, but attendees will need to register with the code IPSEHUSTINGS to book a place.

Andy Chamberlain, Deputy Director of Policy at IPSE (the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed), said: “We are holding this debate to raise awareness about the vital importance of freelancers in this election – and also hold the main parties to account on what they will do for the self-employed.
“Spokespeople from the parties will be discussing #5millionvotes, IPSE’s manifesto for the self-employed and the major issues it raises – from IR35 and late payment to parental pay and workhubs.
“It’s a great opportunity for freelancers themselves to quiz the parties about what they will do for this growing and vitally important sector of the British workforce.”
