David Davis MP on State Secrets Privilege and the Justice and Security Green Paper

Following today’s Adjournment Debate, David Davis MP said “This remarkable story shows how giving a government agency an absolute right to secrecy encourages bad behaviour.”

On the Government’s Justice and Security Green Paper, Mr Davis said “In light of previous revelations about the UK government’s complicity in torture and rendition, it is vital that the Justice and Security Green Paper proposals are not misused to cover up illegal acts and embarrassments rather than to protect national security.”
