LADBROKES HAVE paid out to punters who backed MP's to flout the hosepipe ban.
In now what seems a huge price, the bookies offered 5/1 last week that an MP would be seen breaching the hosepipe ban at any point this year. And thanks to Water Minister, Richard Benyon, nifty punters have pocketed a small fortune.
It's now odds-on (4/6) that another MP flouts the ban this year or 33/1 the ban is disregarded completely by an MP who's spotted using one in a water fight.
The firm have also cut the odds of the ban lasting all year to 2/1 (from 3/1).
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Benyon needs a good hosing down after this embarrassing debacle. Punters knew that MP's were unlikely to practice what they preach, and they've netted a nice profit from doing so."
