Labour Party press release
John Mann MP is accusing the Prime Minister of failing to tell the truth on the 19th July 2011 when the Cabinet Secretary stated on his behalf that "The PM had not been involved in any of the discussions about BSKYB."
Mann said "this is clearly untrue and needs investigating. I have written to the new Cabinet Secretary Sir Jeremy Heywood and in the wake of today's evidence at the Leveson Inquiry it is clear that Jeremy Hunt needs to resign."
John Mann is calling on the Cabinet Secretary to conduct an investigation into the clear breach of the Ministerial Code by the Prime Minister. Mann is also calling on the Cabinet Secretary to release all the emails sent by Special Advisors at Number 10 Downing Street, Number 11 Downing Street, the Treasury, the Department for Culture Media and Sport to BSKYB officials and any other advisors employed by the Murdoch Empire.
Mann added "there has been a cover up that in the light of the Leveson Inquiry was bound to unravel and the public deserve the truth and honesty on what really has gone on".
