Labour Party press release
Jack Dromey MP, Labour’s Shadow Housing Minister, commenting on today’s repossession figures released by the Council for Mortgage Lenders, said:
“These alarming figures show that thousands of homeowners and families all over the country continue to face the trauma of losing their homes. There has been no reduction in the number of families forced from their homes since last year as the Tory-led Government’s failed economic policies have resulted in ever higher unemployment and a continuing squeeze on household incomes.
“Instead of taking action to tackle the real problem by implementing a plan for growth and jobs, this out of touch Government has chosen to congratulate itself despite the fact repossessions are up 10% on the last quarter.”
