SNP press release
Responding to news the Labour and Tory parties have come to a deal to run Stirling Council, Stirling Councillor Scott Farmer said:
"We spoke to and met all parties on Stirling Council, and were willing to work in cooperation with all groups, either running another minority administration or as part of an umbrella alliance of all parties. And until next Thursday's Council meeting, we remain ready to talk to all parties.
"Labour and the Tories locked themselves away yesterday for detailed talks, and had agreed to form an Administration that excluded the SNP by mid-afternoon. The clear agenda here was to freeze the SNP out.
"I regret the way this deal has been done, and false comments from some of those involved in cooking up this scheme that the SNP was not constructive in its approach. Labour wanted power and control, and the Tories appear to have given them it. The people of Stirling are the real losers.
