Kate Green MP, Labour's Shadow Equalities Minister, said in response to reports on women executives quotas:
"Increasing the number of women on boards is an important driver of both business and the economy. The Minister for Women Theresa May promised more to help working women and women in business, but warm words are not enough.
"Last year, 32,000 women left the workplace because they could no longer afford to make work pay, as tax credits were cut and childcare costs rose. The reality is that the Tory-led Government’s policies are holding both women and the economy back."
