Latest from Dot Commons
As Olympo-mania grows around The Village, businesses in the rest of London have made no secret of their fall in visitors. London’s West End theatres and restaurants have all reported a drop in trade but Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt dismissed the idea London had turned into a ghost town as “complete nonsense”.
One place definitely feeling the pinch is parliament itself as it was revealed ticket sales for tours of the House of Commons have plummeted by 1,000 per day, down a third on the usual figures for this time of year, indicating a loss of up to £105,000 in ticket sales.
At least we’re all in this together.
