You know that old story House of Commons tour guides tell tourists about the front benches being exactly two sword-lengths apart?
Well someone should let Labour’s John Healey know. He’s been captured taking part in some sword-fighting fun in his Wentworth constituency.
When PoliticsHome caught up with Maltby Phoenix Sword group squire Paul Davenport, he said of Mr Healey’s swashbuckling skills: “To be honest with you, for a guy who’d never done it before – it’s pretty bloody easy to mess up – he didn’t mess up.”
He added that since the MP now owned a pair of stripy socks – part of every good sword-fighter’s uniform – he was welcome to come along again “if he wants to”.
