Labour: Labour backs calls to waive VAT on Hillsborough charity single

Labour press release

The Labour Party today backed calls for David Cameron and George Osborne to waive the VAT on sales of the Hillsborough tribute single, as has frequently been done in the past.

Steve Rotheram MP, Labour MP for Liverpool Walton, said:

“The Hillsborough tribute single by the Justice Collective single is a great song for a great cause.

“As Kenny Dalglish has already said, the families of the 96 have suffered long enough and every penny raised from this single should go to help with their fight for justice.

“The Prime Minister and Chancellor should show some Christmas spirit and waive the VAT, as has frequently been done in the past.”
