Labour press release
Stephen Twigg MP, Labour's Shadow Education Secretary, responding to reports of a delay in the Government publishing its school sports strategy, said:
“Michael Gove is actively damaging school sport - first he scrapped school sport partnerships, now he is blocking a replacement scheme.
“We've gone from nine in ten pupils doing a minimum of two hours of PE a week with Labour, to just half of pupils now.
“Labour supports new powers for Ofsted inspections of school sport and a new parental right to know how much sport your school is providing.”
