Charles Roxburgh has been appointed Director General, Financial Services at HM Treasury. He will have responsibility in the Treasury for all issues relating to financial services, the financial system and financial stability.
Mr Roxburgh is currently a senior partner at McKinsey & Company where he specialises in serving financial institutions and is also the co-head of the McKinsey Global Institute. He is a member of McKinsey's Shareholders' Council, the firm's global board.
He replaces Jonathan Taylor, who has been appointed as Vice-President, European Investment Bank (EIB).
The appointment will begin in early February 2013.
