  • Aitken cautions on probation reform

    There is a "yawning gap" in the Government's proposals for probation reform, Jonathan Aitken has said. The former Tory Cabinet minister, who campaigns for prison reform, warned the plans as they stood would require a 20-fold increase in the number of convicts signing up to be mentors.
