The House of Lords has appointed Duncan Basterfield as its new executive chef on wages of £60,000 a year, the Sun reports. A spokesman for the upper chamber said Mr Basterfield would be charged with “using tighter spending controls to drive down costs and ensure increased savings to the taxpayer”.
