The UK needs a "bigger footprint" to combat extremism in the Sahel-Sahara region of Africa, MPs have said. The Foreign Affairs Committee warned jihadists had "put down roots" in the region creating a "new frontline of violent extremism", and said the UK must do more to "help build indigenous security capacity".
