The Government is considering a system in which web users are automatically barred from accessing pornography unless they choose to enable it. The idea is one of several floated as part of the consultation on protecting children online. Tory MP Claire Perry has called for even stronger restrictions, under which users would have to contact their ISPs if they wished to access pornography.
Internet users should have to opt out of a special filter which blocks online adult material, a group of MPs have said. Tory MP Claire Perry, who chairs the Independent Parliamentary Inquiry on Online Child Protection, called on internet providers to “take on more of the responsibility to keep children safe”.
