The Financial Times has reported that Malcolm Wicks, the Labour former Energy Minister, rejected offers from the Energy Secretary Chris Huhne to chair a review of the fuel poverty target which was announced in the October spending review just before Christmas.
A number of Labour MPs, including Kate Hoey and John Mann, have called for Gordon Brown to step aside as Labour party leader in the wake of Thursday's election. Other MPs have said the party was defeated on Thursday and does not have a mandate to govern.
