Govt to insulate 8m homes

The Government is to provide eight inch thick external insulation to 8m homes as part of its climate change strategy. Climate change minister Greg Barker is leading the move, which could save hundreds of pounds in householder's energy bills, but will dramatically transform the appearance of their homes.


Barker: Cuts worse than Thatcher

Labour have accused Greg Barker of "letting the cat out of the bag" after he was quoted saying the Government was "making cuts that Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s could only have dreamt of”.
