The UK Border Agency has no permanent presence at any of the 238 coastal marinas or 227 inland marinas and small harbours. Labour MP Steve McCabe - who sits on the Home Affairs Select Committee - said Britain's coastal defences were "exposed to those wanting to bring in drugs, weapons and people".
