Concerns over grooming
Agencies are underestimating the number of children who are being groomed for sex, according to a report by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre. The assessment, which follows a five-month inquiry, said police, social services and charities are failing to take account of the scale of grooming.
Keith Vaz, chair of the Home Affairs select committee described the findings as “concerning”, adding, “it appears to be a much larger issue than originally imagined”.
