Carers receive extra £6m
The Government has announced an extra £6m a year to help foster carers and vulnerable families.
The money will be shared by 37 local authorities to support programmes such as increasing parenting skills and preventing anti-social behavior.
Children's Minister Tim Loughton said he was "delighted" by the measures and added that the money would be split between helping foster carers and families with children "on the edge" of care.
He said: "For those children who can not remain with their families, we want to ensure that those responsible for caring for them have the right support to help them meet their often challenging needs."
