Watson 'should step down from DCMS committee'

Tom Watson has been told to step down from the Culture, Media and Sport Committee by its Chairman, after Ed Miliband promoted him to the Shadow Cabinet. Conservative MP John Whittingdale, who is also the committee Chairman, said parliamentary convention dictated that members of the shadow cabinet should not sit on backbench committees.
