Tory rebellion to divert HS2
Tory MPs will put intense pressure on Transport Secretary Justine Greening to change the proposed route of the High Speed Rail link between London and Birmingham today. Backbenchers are expected to suggest an alternative path, allowing Ms Greening to head off a rebellion from her own party - Welsh Secretary Cheryl Gillan has made it clear she will resign if the route is not diverted from her Chesham and Amersham constituency.
