Coalition 'putting women's lives at risk'
The Coalition's policies are putting women's lives at risk, according to research from the Labour Party and campaign groups. The Government's cuts to legal aid and cuts to local authority services have come under fire on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, with Labour saying that cuts to policing, street lighting and women's support services will all affect women's safety. Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper said that the Government had a "blind spot" when it came to services designed to help women.
