Flint hails collective energy switching programme
Caroline Flint has hailed the the launch of the first UK-wide collective energy switching campaign as "simple but potentially trail-blazing." The initiative - run by Which? and 38 Degrees - will attempt to bring people together to negotiate cheaper energy bills with the big energy companies. The Shadow Energy and Climate Change Secretary said it would "set an exciting precedent which organisations such as local authorities and housing associations could take up to negotiate better energy deals on behalf of their residents."
