Hunt defends Cable letter
Jeremy Hunt has defended his Cabinet colleague Vince Cable after a leaked letter revealed the Business Secretary warning that the Government lacks a "compelling vision" for the econoy.
The letter between Mr Cable and David Cameron and Nick Clegg was leaked in full to the BBC yesterday after extracts first appeared in the Financial Times last month. But Mr Hunt said this morning that Mr Cameron and Chancellor George Osborne "would be the first to say there's lots more to do" on the economy, adding: "I think if you read the whole of that letter, first of all Vince Cable is very honest and says that he needs to do more and his department needs to do more, but he's actually doing what all cabinet ministers do, which is write to the Prime Minister and write to the Chancellor and say, look, honestly, this is what I think we're doing well, and this is what I think we need to do better at and I think he's doing his job by telling quite openly."
