Public sector to hit record low by 2017
The number of jobs in the public sector will reach its lowest level since the creation of the welfare state by 2017, according to new research. The Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development says the Government will have shed 880,000 jobs by 2017, the year George Osborne hopes to have eliminated the structural budget deficit.
