Ahmed 'shocked' by allegations
Suspended Labour Lord Ahmed has said he is "shocked and horrified" at claims that he called for a £10m bounty for the capture of US Presidents Obama and Bush.
The life peer has been suspended from the party after it was alleged he made the remarks whilst in Pakistan.
He denies the claims, made in the Express Tribune, which claimed that, in response to the offer of a $10m bounty by the US for the founder of a Pakistani militant group, the peer had said:
"If the US can announce a reward of $10m for the captor of Hafiz Saeed, I can announce a bounty of £10m on President Obama and his predecessor George Bush." The Labour Party said it would "utterly condemn" the remarks if they were true.
