Greek coalition slump in polls
The preliminary exit poll in Greece suggests the two main politicial parties have suffered huge losses in the general election for the austerity and high unemployment the country is currently facing.
The poll suggests the main conservative party ‘New Democracy’ will receive the biggest share of the vote with between 17 and 20% but not enough to form a Government and down from 33% in the 2008 general election.
The socialists Pasok, which won the last election, could slip into third place with a projected 14%-17% down from 43%.
There are concerns that a new government could reignite the debt crisis, if it refuses to abide by the terms of the EU and IMF bailouts.
