Osborne shrugs of Dorries attack
George Osborne has shrugged off criticism from Tory backbencher Nadine Dorries, who he says “hasn’t agreed with anything” the party leadership has done for the last seven years.
The Chancellor told the Andrew Marr Show this morning: “She has objected to the modernising of the Conservative Party and that is her business but we’ve got to stay focussed on what really matters.”
His comments come after Ms Dorries said David Cameron will face a challenge to his leadership of the Conservative Party "by Christmas". Writing for the Mail on Sunday, she said that "party bosses only need 46 signatures to ditch the leader" adding that "they'll get them by Christmas".
