Osborne ponders Grexit
George Osborne questioned yesterday whether Greece leaving the eurozone might encourage Germany to take more robust action.
The Chancellor told a summit of chief executives a Greek exit would help the German government “to explain to their public why they need to do certain things like a banking union, eurobonds and things in common with that”.
Italy's Prime Minister Mario Monti was forced to deny a claim by Austria's finance minister that the country may need a financial bailout due to its high borrowing costs.
