Leveson considered special hearing over quit claims
Lord Leveson considered calling a special hearing of his inquiry, after a Mail on Sunday story claimed he threatened to quit over criticism from a government minister, according to reports.
The paper claimed Leveson demanded Education Secretary Michael Gove was "gagged" after he made a speech claiming the Inquiry was having a "chilling effect" on freedom of speech.

Guido Fawkes claims Lord Leveson wanted to convene a special hearing to deal with the allegations, but was convinced the move would be seen as an over-reaction.
Instead, the Inquiry - which is not sitting this week - has invited a number of "core participants" to make submissions about the story and will deal with the matter on Monday next week.
