Six people have been arrested as part of an anti-terror operation in London.
Police are currently searching eight homes in the capital after five men and one woman were held this morning.
Reports suggest the raids related to an Islamist extremist plot with possible targets in the UK.
The BBC reports that one of the men arrested is a former Police Community Suppoort Officer.
In a seperate development earlier today, armed police surrounded a coach on the M6 Toll motorway after a passenger was reported pouring a liquid into a box, which then started smoking.
The coach came to a stop on the hard shoulder and passengers were safely evacuated while police investigated.
The source of the alert was found to be a health improvement aid for smokers, and police are no longer treating the situation as suspicious.
Superintendant David Holloway of Staffordshire police this afternoon said:
"Whilst this was a genuine security alert, the significant concerns reported to use were unfounded."
"No criminal offence has been committed, and no passenger or any other member of the public is being treated as a suspect."
