Families face 'legacy of trouble'
The Government’s families tsar has warned politicians they must tackle domestic violence which has “entrenched cycles of suffering problems and causing problems” in some households.
Louise Casey emphasised a “whole family” approach was required to turn the ‘troubled families’ around. She told BBC Breakfast this morning that the problems need to be tackled "head on".
“So what we’re trying to do here is cut that cycle straight up, stop these kids growing up in these circumstances. That will lessen the amount of victims, it will also sort those families out, so it’s quite a tough programme. This isn’t just about handing out money – this is about changing the behaviour in the families.”
