PM attacked for 'showing his hand' on EU
David Cameron is facing strong criticism from backbench MPs after he apparently ruled out the UK's exit from the EU. Mr Cameron yesterday said he didn't think the UK should leave the EU, but should continue to negotiate a "new settlement". Eurosceptic backbench Conservatives including David Nuttall, Bernard Jenkin and Douglas Carswell have hit out at Mr Cameron's comments. Mr Jenkin said "in politics you can never say never... I do not know why he has put this card face up on the negotiating table – I do not understand whose support it will get in the Conservative party."
