Senior Government figures admit cash-in-hand payments
David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Boris Johnson have admitted they have made cash-in-hand payments to tradesmen. Ministers were forced into the admissions after David Gauke, the Treasury Minister, claimed on monday that it was 'morally wrong' to avoid tax in this way. Vince Cable also confessed to paying tradesmen cash. He said: "Of course, it's perfectly legal and perfectly moral, providing you're not doing it with the objective of avoiding tax."
