Alexander to attack Tories over green policies
Danny Alexander is preparing to launch an attack on his Conservative colleagues at the Liberal Democrat's conference next month, according to documents seen by the Financial Times.
The Chief Secretary fo the Treasury will criticise his Coalition partners for blocking green policies and trying to force through changes to employment law "without clear, robust evidence".
In a latest attempt to "decouple" his party from the Tories before the next election, Mr Alexander will challenge "irresponsible calls for policies with no clear evidence of effectiveness" such as no-fault dismissal, and voice his support for a new decarbonisation deal, an idea blocked by George Osborne last month.
