BoE executives awarded £25m bonuses
The Bank of England has awarded £25m in bonuses to staff since the start of the financial crisis, new figures reveal. Executives from the Bank received £4.9m last year, up £200,000, it emerged. However governor Sir Mervyn King and his deputies did not recieve extra bonuses. Labour MP John Mann has hit out at the Bank, claiming it "should be leading the way in creating a new banking culture, not leading the way in paying excessive bonuses".
