Standard Chartered in settlement talks
UK bank Standard Chartered is in talks with US law-enforcement officials, including New York's banking regulator, to resolve the investigation into allegations of money laundering tied to Iran, sources have told Reuters. The agency claims settlement negotiations will last through the weekend, with a resolution expected by next week. It comes after it emerged that US Treasury and Federal Reserve were "angered" by the decision of the New York State Department of Financial Services to launch its probe without consulting them.
