Coulson appears over hacking charges
David Cameron's former communications director Andy Coulson is among seven people who have appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today charged with phone hacking. He is now due to attend a preliminary hearing on 26 September.
Former News of the World managing editor Stuart Kuttner, former news editor Greg Miskiw, former head of news Ian Edmondson, ex-chief reporter Neville Thurlbeck and former reporter James Weatherup also appeared.
Former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks, who faces charges related to perverting the course of justice, doesn’t appear until 3 September.
