Man fined for abusive email to MP
A man who sent an abusive email to a Conservative MP who was headbutted by a Labour rival has been fined £110.

Three weeks after Labour MP Eric Joyce headbutted Stuart Andrew, a Tory MP, in the Strangers Bar at the House of Commons, Nicholas Scales sent Mr Andrew an email saying the attack had "probably knocked some sense into your small-minded Tory mind".

A court heard how Scales, 41, had told the MP to "stop wasting police time and get your fucking job done".

After admitting sending a malicious communication, he was ordered to pay £100 costs and was issued a restraining order preventing Scales from contacting the MP for 12 months.
