A network of websites run by the family of the new Conservative party chairman Grant Shapps have been blacklisted by Google.
The string of websites, run by his wife, sister and mother, were in breach of Google's rules on copright infringement. They have been banned from carrying Google adverts and have been relegated to the bottom of Google search results.
A spokesman for Mr Shapps said he was “he is quite simply not involved in this business” and “derives no income, dividends, or other income from this business, which is run by his wife”.
