Obama and Romney in fight over jobs
US president Barack Obama found himself locked in a battle over jobs with Republican candidate Mitt Romney following the end of both parties' conferences.
Seizing on today's employment figures
by the Bureau of Labour Statistics which showed 96,000 jobs were added in August - fewer than expected - Mr Romney said: "Had his policies worked as he thought they would there would be nine million more Americans working." Mr Obama admitted the figures were "not good enough".
