Racism in football 'a significant problem'
Racism in football remains a "significant problem", according to MPs.
A Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee report found that, while "positive" progress had been made, recent cases of abuse show "there is much more that can and must be done".
Tory MP and select committee member Therese Coffey said today: "I think across the board we’d like to say the FA has done a lot, as has happened in society, but shouldn’t be complacent.
"That’s why we wanted to encourage things like better training for stewards, more understanding of what’s going on in the grassroots game and just to make sure that there isn’t this lazy racism that could permeate into everyday language or banter."
