Coalition wrangle over benefit freeze

The Deputy Prime Minister will reportedly push for a "mansion tax" when the Tories and Liberal Democrats negotiatiate ahead of George Osborne's Autumn Statement at the start of December.

The Chancellor is thought to favour cutting the link between benefits and RPI inflation and instead linking welfare payments to average wage increases.
