Romney releases tax details
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has fought back over claims he paid no taxes in some recent years, releasing a summary of his arrangements showing he paid an effective federal rate of at least 13.6% since 1990. Mr Romney refused to make details of the returns public, but as promised released his full tax return for 2011/12. It showed the former governor of Massachusetts earned $13.7m over the year and paid $1.9m in taxes - a rate of 14.1%.
