Cooper demands Mitchell inquiry
Yvette Cooper has called for an investigation into Andrew Mitchell's actions when he swore at a police officer on Downing Street.
The shadow home secretary made the call in a letter to Sir Jeremy Heywood, the cabinet secretary, calling on the government to release in full what Mitchell said to the officers.
The Government chief whip has admitted swearing and said he "lost it a bit" during his outburst at a Downing Street policeman, a friend of Mr Mitchell told the Sunday Telegraph.
However the newspaper claims the Chief Whip is "100% adamant" he did not use the words "plebs" or "morons", as had been reported in The Sun.
