BBC apologises to Queen
The BBC has aplogised after revealing that the Queen personally raised the issue Abu Hamza's extradition with a former home secretary.
Preparations are under way to extradite Mr Hamza to the United States within weeks, following the European Court of Human Rights' decision to reject his bid for an appeal yesterday.
The development was discussed on Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday morning when BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner has revealed the Queen had previously been "upset" by the case. He said she had asked the home secretary at the time why he was "still at large".
The BBC said it and Gardner were sorry for the "breach of confidence", which both "deeply regret".
