Clegg pledges £100m for childcare
The Government is set to give councils an extra £100m to help meet its pledge to provide 100,000 free nursery places for two year-olds, Nick Clegg has announced.
The Coalition is committed to providing up to 15 hours a week of free care for children from the poorest two-fifths of households by September 2014.
The Deputy Prime Minister told the Lib Dem conference the cash - found from underspends in the Department for Education - would be used to help nurseries deliver "a revolution in early education".
