Planning reforms rejected
Liberal Democrats have carried a motion that protests against the Government's planning reforms at their party conference.
Delegates spoke out against the plans this morning, with Cllr Kate Hall saying: "This is something Eric Pickles will not be able to slam our faces in."
Local Goverment minister Don Foster insisted the reforms were "not a done deal". "It is a Coalition package not a Liberal Democrat package and of course a Liberal Democrat package would look different," he said.
"I am listening and I will feed them back to government colleagues – it is not a done deal, there will be full consultation...The glass is more than half-full, not half-empty. I look forward to working with you to make sure it is even fuller."
